About Peter Goldwin

A medieval historian, Otto spent 50 years guiding tours at Burg Eltz in full knight's armor (despite the summer heat). His dramatic reenactments of sword fights—using a foam lance—delighted children and embarrassed his grandchildren. Published three books on "The Real Lives of Knights" (spoiler: they rarely bathed).

Eulogy

Otto didn't just teach history—he time-traveled through it. When dementia blurred the present, he still recited 14th-century poetry flawlessly. His final words? 'Tell the queen... I charged bravely.'
